Alexander Prokhanov: “the Americans will leave Afghanistan!”
The well-known writer, journalist and analyst Alexander Prokhanov, more than three decades engaged in “the Afghan subject”, gave the forecast for further succession of events in this country at the instance of our portal:
- I visited Afghanistan about twenty times, passed many roads. I managed to talk to Najibullah a month before his terrible execution … Afghanistan is a huge part of my life.
And I came to a conclusion that Afghanistan is a mysterious place of the world. Why it is mysterious?! Because all empires aspired to get there, and all stopped short as a result. British Empire, Soviet, now the American … Why all so aspire to Afghanistan? Because it is all global empires and the one who supervises Afghanistan, that supervises the huge region!
It is a solar plexus of a hemisphere! One who supervises Afghanistan that supervises India. China, Iran, Pakistan, an exit to the Persian Gulf and consequently it is necessary to appear there. Not for economy reasons, but proceeding from geopolitics reasons.
All try to become there and every time meet the Afghans. This is absolutely unstructured tribe, armed cap-á-pie, and ready to die for the homeland. Sixteen million brave shooters! And it is very important to note that there is no centralized structure; it is the network. Each leader is the center there without whom all Afghanistan is inconceivable.
The Americans will leave it. The Talibs will win inevitably. And then there will be a Muslim Sunni state. The world is frightened with the Talibs; say that they will go further to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan … But it is a lie, after all the Talibs are the Afghans. Why do they go further when the Tajiks already live in the north of Afghanistan. Why do they go to another's spheres?!
The Talibs will establish a powerful order. I think that drug production will come to an end. They will block the drug traffic as already was once when they won. There were the Americans with Karzai who arranged the world business there … And when the Talibs will win, so our addicts will feel bad – they will have the withdrawal pains.
