“Era of Power and Happiness”: horses, odes, hockey …

The news from Turkmenistan is always interesting: they are not about inflation or demonstrations, not about harmful intrigues of opponents of authorities in power – they about unusual! Events are quite usual: the monument, book, song …, but at the same time, aren't similar. And precisely that doesn't repeat somewhere. Therefore, we will be curious what is the new!

How the historical periods in the country life are called? Simply and artless: revolution, perestroika; from a general series perhaps “Stagnation Era” is beaten out. And here in Turkmenistan not the periods change, but the eras at once. Just there was an Era of the Great Renaissance which coincided on a chronological framework with the first term of presidency of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and here already the new time is outside which is called as the Era of Power and Happiness. The name was given not by somebody, but the president whom for simplicity, probably, is called as Arkadag that in translation means “patron”.

As it is known, a great ship needs deep waters. No sooner said than done: to the president handed over the model of the ship which becomes the very first ship of own production admitted to structure of navy of Turkmenistan. And it will be the boundary patrol ship. It will receive the corresponding name: “Arkadag” …

And still it is accepted in Turkmenistan to compose the solemn odes concerning Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Here, for example, the national writer of Turkmenistan Gozel Shagulyeva composed “Song of joy”. What was the occasion, you ask?! Very disturbing: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the rank of “The person of year” to the Institute of the international relations and economic cooperation of… Romania.

Recently the national writer created the new work which is devoted to re-election of the president for the second term. The ode is called intriguingly: “Kings”. Here, for example, what is stated:

"... In presenting his Arkadag
I wrote this ode to the music of his own.
None of those forces would have to measure
To stand on a par with the kings.

Tell me ..., Gozel, you with inspiration, poured over the edge,
You're in a fantastic time living.
In tune of Arkadag you are in love,
Divine power in the hearts of kings. "

But the creative imagination is really boundless and here already the odes write not only to the president of the country, but also to his …horses! The ode to a presidential horse Akhan was published in the main newspaper of the country, the name of which is “Neutral Turkmenistan”. National writer already familiar to us became the innovator. The verses are devoted already to other racers: Darhan, Shagadam and Dovletli.

Ayjemal Omarova wrote about Darhan:

“You meet a dawn on a scope,

You rush as arrow on the hills.

With Arkadag fortunately directed,

Akhal-Teke horse - the friend Darhan!”

Dovletgeldy Annamyradov wrote about Shagadam:

“The soul exults, looking at a horse,

When it is in blossoming fields.

My song is about Shagadam.

You are the glory of Arkadag, a horse of Turkmen!”

Well, Hojamuhammet Kakalyev sang of Dovletli:

“Dovletli, Dovletli,

You are not simply the racer, all you are the fairy tale.

To this song of hearts

No help is necessary.

Arkadag on a horse -

This happiness of unfading days”.

It is interesting that the odes to presidential horses were published in the newspaper before a holiday - Day of Racer. In order that all spirit of a big holiday which didn't leave indifferent even the poets, the public institutions directed the employees on hippodromes directly according to the order. Not the worst variant, by the way: not to work in the field, but to take a look at jumps …
And how not to be interested in jumps if Arkadag not only wrote the book “Akhal-Teke horse is Our Pride and Glory”, but also headed the international association of Akhal-Teke horse breeding. And that everything was clear to all, at the beginning of this year in the capital of the republic Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's equestrian statue was established.

Traditions are good, but any new era bears something new. Sometimes so new that you don't know what to say at once … We won’t argue – we will address to the fact at once: the industry ministries and departments of Turkmenistan are obliged to form the ice-hockey teams! Such order was made by the president inspired as they speak, by the Belarusian colleague Alexander Lukashenko.

Already the Cup of the president on hockey was managed to play which was won by the Burgut team representing the state committee of Turkmenistan on tourism and sports. The ice hockey geography in Turkmenistan now looks so: “Oghuz khan” represents the state concern “Turkmengas”, “Shir” protects the honour of trade and the textile industry and “Alp Arslan” – it is the transport and communication. By the next season the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic will set out own team.

I don't know what about the ministries putting the hockey traditions, but school students of Turkmenistan are funny. There is the occasion: the teams (football, volleyball, basketball) will be created at all schools. There will be the national Sports contest, there will be also prizes from the president. And the matter is not in prizes, after all the first president of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov, he is also Turkmenbashi, in due time liquidated the physical culture at schools together with the opera and the ballet.
