Evgeny Shevchyuk: We see the nationalism growth in Moldova

The Pridnestrovian Moldavian republic was visited by the special representative of the president of Russia across Transnistria Dmitry Rogozin. He met the president of PMR Evgeny Shevchyuk. After a meeting Evgeny Shevchyuk publicly designated the republic position on a number of the major questions:

- The meeting with representatives of delegation from the Russian Federation took place. During the meeting, the questions of social and economic interaction were discussed with Russia, implementation questions of peacekeeping operation on coast of the Dniestr, discussions on problems of economic character, expansion and cooperation deepening were carried out. We discussed the whole range of problems, expressed concern of some aspects and difficulties within negotiation process in a format “5+2”. We designated our strategy of conducting negotiation process and hoped for further development of the relations with the Russian Federation as the country guarantor, the main partner of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

We stated the position that Transnistria is interested in the Eurasian integration, in those integration processes which develop in the territory of CIS countries, first of all, in the direction of the Customs Union, the processes designated under the flag of the Eurasian integration. We consider that it is traditional, first of all, economic relations. It is the traditional cooperation. It is favourable for us and the rules are clear in this market.

We consider that the main prospect for economy of Transnistria is an active participation in these projects. Certainly, it is necessary to look for a participation formula. It is necessary to consider those features which are connected with political lack of regulation with Moldova. But we consider that behind this integration there is a serious prospect of development of economy of Transnistria and first of all, it is the life of people, life of the inhabitants of Transnistria. It is at the centre of the foreign policy efforts of the Dniestr state and we will look for ways of achievement of this purpose.

I express the concern in a certain growth of nationalism from the Dniestr party regarding the interaction of authorities of Moldova with educational institutions in other language. We cause the concern possibility of the reduction for training in the Russian language in Moldova. That incident, which was shown widely in YouTube, shows that, unfortunately, some teachers in Moldova afford such manifestations of nationalism and disrespect for elementary human rights which should respect in all democratic countries. We hope for proper response of the Moldavian authorities on this incident, that the mechanisms of not repetition of such incidents will be fulfilled in future.

I want to tell that we will support the Russian citizens living in the territory of Moldova, will support citizens of Ukraine, Gagauz people, Bulgarians in the direction of protection of the elementary rights of citizens according to the international legislation. We consider that at the head of a corner there should be inalienable rights of citizens. Any their infringement should mention any person living not only in Moldova, but also in neighbouring states.

This year Transnistria supported the citizens who are training in the Russian. In adjacent settlements of Moldova, the defined, but not absolutely weighed decisions were accepted, in my opinion, which promoted that children, who are training in the Russian language, were compelled to pass to educational institutions of Transnistria. We rendered and we will support in a case of existence of requirement for training in the Russian in educational institutions of Transnistria. Division concerning the nationality, belongings to concrete language is a painful question for the inhabitants of Transnistria. We watch the certain negative manifestations with concern.

Therefore within the consultations with the Moldavian party we will put and we will demand the statement in the agenda of our negotiations, including the situation with the Russian schools in the territory of Moldova, with observance of the elementary rights of citizens. We consider that it is lawful because Transnistria doesn't allow such attacks concerning the Moldavian schools in the territory of Transnistria with training on Latin graphics that is in the Romanian language. The situation is more stable there. But at the same time a certain far-fetched sensation is inflated concerning our schools to discredit Transnistria in one way or another.

We are open for interaction and demonstration of our relation to various nationalities. But we would like, that our partners respectfully belonged to the Russian-speaking in the territory of Moldova.

I want to tell that interaction in the area of public organizations is very important. We intend to promote the strengthening of these interrelations. We intend to promote that in the area of various public organizations there would be the constructive interaction with civil society of the Russian Federation. Public organizations of Transnistria are adjusted on this interaction. Also there are certain contacts in the area of parties, a number of public organizations which assist both support and this interaction develops into cooperation in what Transnistria is interested.
