Игумен Ефрем просит освободить его с ограничительными условиями
Настоятель Ватопедского монастыря архимандрит Ефрем, находящийся в афинской тюрьме "Коридаллос", направил прошение в Апелляционный суд. Игумен просит заменить ему предварительное заключение на освобождение с ограничительными условиями.
Отец Ефрем сослался в своем прошении "на состояние своего здоровья, а также на тот факт, что известно его место проживания и, следовательно, его нельзя подозревать в том, что он может бежать из страны". Архимандрит вновь заявил о своей невиновности в деле по обмену недвижимостью между монастырем и государством, передает ИТАР-ТАСС. Прошение уже изучается прокуратурой Апелляционного суда, которая представит свое предложение следователю Ирини Калу, занимающейся данным делом.
Во время предварительного судебного разбирательства Калу высказалась за заключение настоятеля Ватопедского монастыря под стражу по обвинениям в "отмывании грязных денег и ложных показаниях". В ответ прокурор выразил мнение, что игумен должен быть освобожден с "ограничительными условиями" под денежную гарантию в 200 тысяч евро и запрет выезда из страны.
Тем не менее, совет Апелляционного суда Афин принял 23 декабря решение арестовать архимандрита Ефрема и поместить его в камеру предварительного заключения до судебного процесса, дата начала которого не назначена
