McCain worries. His Georgian friends too.

The Senator John McCain, who tried to become the U.S. President, is not different to Georgia long ago. However, seemingly to Russia too. It happens that because of that McCain gets, to put it mildly, in awkward situation, but it doesn’t confuse him especially and the senator continues to make statements, obviously, believing that the whole world waits to hear his appraisals …

Recently mister McCain declared that he feels concern in connection with possible strain of relations between Russia and Georgia and the military doctrines “The Caucasus-2012” planned in autumn. McCain declared the following on air of TV company Rustavi-2:
“I believe in a choice of the Georgian people and that the elections will be free and fair, but more I am frightened by the subsequent danger of intimidation from Russia and consequently I try to do everything to be convinced that Georgia has a defensive weapon”.

And even in the spring, after a meeting with the president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, the republican senator told: “The priority of myself and several more people is to be convinced that Georgia has a defensive weapon which is necessary for it … Ability of the government and the country population to self-defense will be the best means for control of possible Russian infringement to the territories of Georgia in the future. It is my purpose”.

The fear takes molehills for mountains of many people in Georgia and not only of them after the defeat in “August war” as we see. The people should be intimidated before the elections therefore the myth about “the Russian military threat” is strenuously exaggerated. This time every possible hearsay is started concerning the doctrines “The Caucasus-2012” which will pass from September, 17 to September, 23. It is the terrible thing! - the operative groups of FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Protective Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia will take part in it besides the Russian armed forces.

Here the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze also declares in Brussels that these doctrines are not other as “provocative”. Otherwise it can't be simply, as according to Mr. Vashadze, “Russia undermines the stability and safety in the Southern Caucasus by the actions”. The minister is extremely concerned. Here is still quote:

“The list can be continued infinitely. It is the operational and tactical missile systems Tochka-U, and the jet systems of volley fire Uragan and Smerch, surface-to-air missile systems S-300, S-400 and more than five thousand Russian military men in the occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region. And it is, of course, “The Caucasus-2012”. Not only Georgia, but also all countries of the region are anxious with these doctrines”.

But Mr. Vashadze looks deeply, probably he learned at the president, and consequently he declares for the whole world that the purpose of Russia is “to deprive of the sovereignty and independence of the South Caucasus 's three states with one blow”.

The State Minister of Georgia concerning the reintegration Ekaterina Tkeshelashvili didn't begin to look for something new and declared the doctrines “The Caucasus-2012” as provocative too.

Here is her point of view:

“It is definitely, that the similar doctrines are provocative, especially in that situation when Russia is the country which occupied our territories. This step is considered analytically and with a certain concern not only by us, but also by our partners. Usual tactics of testing of reactions from Russia when similar statements are made and is expected reaction. Certainly, these actions don't remain without the corresponding reaction, including the international community”.

Probably, the president Saakashvili will be the following who express the opinion on the subject of “provocation”. Closer to elections … After all it is simpler to broadcast about the Russian threat, than to run from a shadow of the Russian plane …
