“No” to neo-Nazism, nationalism and the justification of Bandera!

The extremely dangerous tendencies of popularity increase of neo-Nazi movements are observed for the last years in Ukraine, the main of which is the All-Ukrainian Union “Freedom”. The modern continuers of fascist ideology have selected the tactics of conflicts provocation, radical actions and disorders for attention attraction to the political forces and receptions of doubtful popularity before the elections. Their actions are directed, first of all, on use of discontent by the political-economical situation existing at a considerable part of the Ukrainian society, with a view of kindling of nationalist radicalism. A vivid example of such actions were the events on May, 9 in Lvov where they humiliated, beaten massively the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, people with George ribbons, tore away the awards from veterans, burned down and trampled down the copies of the Banner of the Victory. The activists of pro-Fascist organization “Freedom” haven't allowed the veterans with fighting awards to assign the flowers to tombs of the fallen companions, to revere their memory. Neo-Nazis didn't pass a column to Eternal Flame, provoked the fight, pulled out the flowers and wreaths from hands.

The given event is the result of system and constant growth of influence of the neo-fascist organizations in the West Ukraine. That was earlier as the incidental, extremist tricks, now became well organized, scale action. The history has shown, to what conducts the growth of influence of such forces. The growth of popularity observed in Europe of radical right-wing movements and the Norwegian tragedy as the natural and monstrous result of this tendency, says that danger of neo-Nazism is the sharpest all-European problem.

The radical right-wing organizations have developed the vigorous activity practically in all countries of Europe and coordinate the activity among themselves. The feature of a situation in Ukraine is that neo-Nazi forces have broken in the power from the latent, marginal position at once in several regions in the Western Ukraine. Thanks to what they have received a serious administrative resource and a source of financing for the actions to one of which were on May, 9 in Lvov.

The regional councils of the Lvov, Ivano-Frankovsk and Uzhgorod regions publish the decisions directed on the justification and support of actions of fascist helpers and their ideology on a system basis. One of the last is an appeal to protect Ivan Demyanyuk condemned in Germany for crimes made during the Second World War, guilty of death of thousand people in Hitlerite camps. And it is only one of such decisions. The monuments to the Soviet soldiers-liberators are destroyed, memorable signs to soldiers OUN-UPA are established, celebrations of fascist helpers are spent across all Western Ukraine in a mass order. As a result, according to independent fund of Simon Vizental, Ukraine has appeared on the second place after the Baltic Staes on prevalence of neo-fascism. These are the results of activity of party “Freedom” and other neo-Nazi parties, which steels are possible with the uttermost connivance of a management of Ukraine.

Disturbed by uncontrolled growth of neo-Nazi moods in the West Ukraine and having understanding that this problem is international and concerns any country, the communists of Kharkov and Novosibirsk have made the decision to prepare the joint appeal in Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, calling resolutely to condemn and forbid the development and propaganda of neo-Nazism in Ukraine, the activity of the All-Ukrainian Union "Freedom" at the international level as organizers and executors of disorders on May, 9 in Lvov.

Having considering the inertness of the Ukrainian authorities in suppression of distribution of neo-Nazism in the country, we consider the expedient attraction of the authoritative international organizations which would state an objective estimation to the events occurring in Ukraine. An estimation from which the Ukrainian authorities will be compelled to be considered and which will accurately define a position of the European states to connivance of distribution of neo-Nazism in Ukraine.
