CSTO is against the pressure upon Belarus!
During the Ninth International scientific and practical interactive videoconference “The Collective Security Treaty Organization is a new, significant factor of ensuring stability and safety on the Eurasian space” the secretary general of CSTO Nikolay Bordyuzha has expressed the relation to attempts of a number of the European states to put pressure upon the Republic of Belarus:
- The attempts of direct and indirect intervention of the separate states or groups of the states (including the use of the international institutes and new information possibilities) in affairs of member states (CSTO), the intrusions of “universal” models of the device of internal life and conducting the foreign policy activity proceed. In case of disobedience, the corresponding “instructions” are followed by sanctions, rough political pressure, the economic and other 
restrictions covered by words on duty about human rights and democracy. It also occurs today from some countries in relation to Belarus.
At political level each member state of CSTO already declared the negative attitude to sanctions which are applied in relation to Belarus. This is a signal for the European Union states that they should reconsider the steps, taking into account that many states oppose similar actions.
On the one hand within CSTO, we speak about a freedom of movement, on the another hand – we deprive of this freedom more than one hundred statesmen, the civil personnel, businessmen of Belarus, closing their entry into Europe. One not so matches another.
All these traditional and new calls demand the corresponding reaction. According to article 9 of the Charter of CSTO in a format of the Organization the mechanism of regular political consultations during which the situation estimates in a zone of CSTO responsibility are discussed, the development of common positions and search of joint approaches to actual problems of the international agenda is conducted, collective statements are coordinated.
Meetings are conducted on the levels of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, their deputies, members of Constant council at CSTO and also experts. The special attention is given to coordination of collective steps of member states in the international organizations for that purpose the periodic meetings of plenipotentiaries of member states of CSTO are convoked at the United Nations, OSCE, NATO, EU and other international structures that allows more effectively, on a collective basis in coordination to defend common interests in these international structures.
