Ukraine refuses own citizens in the territory of the Russian Federation
The citizen of Ukraine, the former inhabitant of the Crimea who nowadays is temporarily staying in Russia, can’t be legalized today in our country. The paradoxical situation when the person also is glad to obtain nationality, but he can’t according to the law.
Dmitry Tkachenko has the Ukrainian passport in a pocket for the present. While because in 2 months the passport will expire the validity period. It means, from this point he can’t remain in Russia, he would have the status of the illegal immigrant and if crosses the border, the entrance back to him will be strictly forbidden.
Dmitry Tkachenko, citizen of Ukraine: «The question is that in May my Ukrainian passport comes to an end — I’m already 45 will be therefore I have no time to wait. If something doesn’t change, I will be the person of the world, neither here, nor there».
According to the law everyone who lives in the Crimea till April 18 of the current year, automatically receives the passport of the Russian. However the hero of our plot was written out from the republic 15 years ago and for date of accession of the Crimea, was registered in Novosibirsk. As a result he appeared out of a legal framework. Tkachenko can address to the Novosibirsk migratory service for obtaining the temporary authorization of residence only in a year — there are such rules. And he becomes the illegal immigrant in May.
Lyudmila Fomenko, the head of department of the Office of the Federal Migration Service of Russia of the Novosibirsk region: «We, the migratory service of the Russian Federation can’t solve an issue of extension of the passport of the citizen of Ukraine, of replacement by the passport of Russia because it isn’t included into our power, only the consular department of Ukraine in Novosibirsk can render assistance, it is unambiguous».
Tkachenko addressed the consular department of Ukraine in November 2013 year. But there is no reply to the request still and they are too anxious with opposition of the states. By phone the conversation with journalists took place only with raised voices. The consulate refused flatly to meet with journalists and here Tkachenko got on reception. However he didn’t receive long-awaited documents.
Dmitry Tkachenko, citizen of Ukraine: «Consulate — they didn’t answer me, there is no result on my issue. Earlier it badly went from the Crimea, and they were capricious there and now already Zaporozhye will be engaged in my issue».
Here, in Novosibirsk Dmitry Tkachenko has the family, work and have nobody in Ukraine and he strongly doubts that the Ukrainian authorities will help with his issue. For the present 2 months he can earn the living, and after it is even difficult to make plans.
Already 10 inhabitants of the Crimea addressed the Novosibirsk migratory services for obtaining the Russian nationality. By rules, they do request for the peninsula and if the registration fact in the republic is confirmed, the person is handed over the identification paper. Alas, the hero of our plot can’t count on such option.
