Destructive sects are the tool of the western special services

The head of the department of the Western Religions History, the associate professor of the Kiev Spiritual Academy Vladimir Mikhaylovich Chernyshev answers the questions of «The world and we».
— Are the sects operating in the territory of Ukraine used in political goals by the foreign states?
If to tell in general about totalitarian sects, certainly, it is the global, geopolitical project. Therefore we can’t speak even about any separate sect. All range of totalitarian, destructive sects, so-called «new religious movements» are the global project on destruction of Slavic mentality, our culture. And that was saved and concentrated in the West in this sphere decades, in the 90th years when all political barriers were broken, a muddy stream captivated practically all space, got into all spheres of our society. And, of course, here it is impossible to speak about any separate sect. There are a lot of them and the most various directions.
— Is it possible to distinguish the most systemically and destructive operating sects from them?
If we tell about a superiority in strength of any sects in the territory of Ukraine, they are two — this neocharismatic movement and «Jehovah's Witnesses». As for scientology, as we know, one of the political leaders of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, at least, his family, belongs to sect of scientologists. Other famous figure, Oleksandr Turchynov is the representative of the charismatic movement.
At all variety, not similarity of external forms, doctrinal divergences the majority of sects has the general patrimonial sign. They are especially practical and their major task is the search of new means of mental transformations, changes of mentality, change of relationship conscious and unconscious — i. e. it is actually a break of our mentality, our culture, complete perception of the world.
Sunday Adelaja is the famous Nigerian who arrived to Ukraine and created huge sect «Embassy of God» here. Actually, it is the state in state, an enclave with the employment services, security, infrastructure. It is in a subsoil of the state, but lives under own laws. Their last adventure is the creation of King’s Capital bank. It is a pure financial pyramid which gathered people. Apartments were given on the security. Today this money can’t still find. And the mass of people were on street, became bums, some committed suicide. And the most surprising that actually a number of deputies in the Verkhovna Rada lobbied its interests. Adelaja knows the Russian well, but imitates a certain accent for the sake of exotic. It is one of the largest sects —there is only a branch in Ukraine. And the sect is scattered worldwide.
And the second sect which is actually equal on number is «Jehovah's Witnesses». It is the known pseudo-Christian organization which even it is impossible to call Christian because it denies all main doctrines — the Holy Trinity, the Godman nature of Christ, denies sovereign existence of soul from a body, etc.
Besides these there is a set of other sects which are both in Russia and in Ukraine. Of course, it is scientology, pseudoscientific, destructive cult, «Christ's Church» — the Boston movement, New apostolic church, the Moon sect, Mormons and others.
— They say that especially sharply this sectarian colonization began with actions of the wife of the former president Yushchenko Kateryna Chumachenko who was the adherent of sect «Native Ukrainian National Faith» (RUNVira). Does this sect work now, what influence does it have and is it connected with the USA?
RUNVira, really, operates on the territory of Ukraine. It is the pagan sect. Its number is small because after all it is very strange exotic. But a number of the Ukrainian leaders really enters it.
But its role in comparison with «Embassy of God» is less. It is known that this sect was visited also by Tymoshenko, and almost all famous Ukrainian leaders. And they even prayed there together for a victory on elections. The former mayor of Kiev Chernovetskyi was one of the most famous adherents of this sect, entered into its structures. Therefore the merging of political interests and sectarianism is really observed.
— What is the role of sects in events on the Maidan and in the subsequent events in Ukraine?
Actually all sectarian area which exists in Kiev supported Euromaidan. They left with the symbolics, fed the people, provided them with the help, carried out noisy protests to draw attention. Not only the sectarian world, but dissident Kiev Patriarchy very actively participated in these processes. Such marginal, destructive forces worked at full capacity to support Euromaidan.
— Do you agree with the statement that many sects are the tool in hands of the American and other foreign special services?
Certainly, it is indeed. For example, Mormons who, of course, can’t be carried to destructive sects entirely. Without going into doctrinal details, it is possible to call them semi-pagan sect. Representatives of this organization are very polite, learn language, for the money they come to Ukraine for 2 years, for example. They look narrowly at our culture, mentality, a way of life, etc. And then, when they carry out the mission, come back to the USA. Also it is a fact of common knowledge that then they are taken as employees in CIA because it is invaluable sources of information. They first-hand give all this on the necessary channels.
There is one more of the most large-scale sects which was initially created as the political project connected with the Korean intelligence services — Moon’s Unification Church.
The major factor is that these sects can’t be coped rigidly from outside, but there is enough of that this certain unification, certain religious vanguard which shrouds, absorbs, tries to dissolve, to demarcate Christianity. There is enough that sects were present on our earth, and their presence carry out the destructive work. Also it isn’t necessary any loud administrative parallels, additional levers because they will conduct the destructive activity as a certain virus which lives at the expense of society and destroys «healthy organism» of society.
