Nationalism became the grave-digger of the European Union

The Polish architect and businessman Krzysztof Wator tells about today’s difficult situation in Poland and Europe in general. The period of peaceful and full life in the EU comes to an end and we are expected by big shocks in near temporary prospect.
—As the events of the last two years testify, the nationalists make themselves known in Poland. What is the reason of this phenomenon?
Really in Poland both in 2013, and in present year, mass demonstrations of local nationalists passed on the Independence Day in which up to hundred thousand people participated. These demonstrations were followed by mass riots. According to the Polish nationalists it is correct to love the Homeland with bits and Molotov cocktails. Without putting forward still any political, social and economic requirements, breaking through cordons of police, attacking the cars, throwing Molotov cocktails to own guards and all around, the crowd turned the centre of own capital into one big dump.
Stupid aggression of similar actions of marginal swells is senseless at first sight. What is it? Demonstration to the whole world how they love and appreciate the country and especially its capital? If so, it is very strange way of patriotism manifestation, it is similar to «beating is akin to love», if sets the fire, so it is because of the exuberance of feeling. Or perhaps it is a play of muscles on public? The Polish Nazis are the coolest patriots in the world. But if you the patriot why you disappear behind a mask of? And they are in masks that nobody identified the physiognomy distorted by a grimace of the love which is bursting forth. So, it means they have something to hide?
The Polish police detained over 300 most active participants of this «holiday». The city hall of Warsaw conducts work on calculation of the damage caused by «patriots» to the capital.
But, if to analyse the genesis of this phenomenon, involuntarily there is a number of questions the answers on which set thinking on the future of the country and its place in plans of world politicians.
It is not a secret that similar public currents are under a constant control of intelligence services of the states which through the agency in the management of the organizations not only control, but also try to direct their activity.
To what course is already the individual question. But it isn’t necessary to argue that such mass actions aren’t surprise for the authorities. Besides, they initiate association of outcasts under the auspices of sports fan clubs, military and sports sections, religious sects. Considerable funds are spent for it. And it isn’t surprising if you can’t win against the process, head it and direct destructive energy of fans in the interests. As the sociology testifies, in each society the level of a marginal segment of the population makes to 10−15%. And it is very considerable part of people who besides possess the negative potential which isn’t connected by any social taboos. They developed nihilism in relation to the law, moral and ethical standards of behaviour, they aren’t constrained by fear of loss of property and position occupied in the society, as well as total absence of any family and social bonds. They are easily motivated on holding various military and antisocial actions.
The herd instinct and submission to force prevail at them. Having been deprived of a source of the satisfaction of the primitive desires they easily get off in gangs, lose fear and mind in crowd similar to them and go to smash foreign wealth.
Simply to crush. Out of envy and the otioseness. Proceeding from the marginal understanding of justice. And they don’t need any serious motivations to arrange the next disorder. Only the pitchfork and torches are necessary for them, that is, the bits and Molotov cocktails. But the main thing is to get off in crowd, in stupid herd in which the remains of fear and mind are lost, the personality is dissolved and there is a readiness to go on any barrier — on water-cannons, cars, own police, own fellow citizens and … own state. The herd has no ideas.
The herd simply sees an irritant before itself that is someone’s property, as a rule. The herd has no strategy. The herd simply tramples everything to the earth because so understands the justice, that nobody get it. And the herd doesn’t reflect whether it would be the own army, police, own country. It is necessary to think! And in the herd there is nobody to think. Also there is no time. In Polish very exact term — cattle is appropriated to it.
It is necessary to pay tribute the Poles understood what is «cattle» better and before other people and picked up this capacious and memorable word for outcasts. Originally the word «cattle» meant the horned cattle. That is the stupid horned animal losing the last rudiments of thinking and identity in herd. And as the outcasts differ nothing from the horned cattle in the behaviour, no wonder that the observation Polish people transferred this definition to part of human society inclined to «disorder for the sake of disorder».
Naturally, this part of society couldn’t remain unaddressed the politicians fighting for electoral support on elections. And the political ideology on the platform of which they could be united was necessary for giving of participation legitimacy of lumpens in public life of the country. The nationalism was chosen in the form of such platform as the most primitive and intelligible doctrine for the illiterate and not wishing or not able to include the brains declassed crowd. That it is simpler to unite the masses round itself under the pretext of their national exclusiveness and incitement of hatred to the next people. «Nation is above all». Therefore events in Warsaw, I dare to assume are the demonstration to society of the certain forces potential which are still considering premature the official emergence in political arena of the country.
However I have to note that these shadow forces already showed the revanchist position: through radicals they do attempt to impart to the Polish society the thought of need of borders revision and return of the West Ukrainian lands to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and also the kindle of Russophobic moods.
— What it can testify? What is the ideology of nationalism dangerous to Europe?
What do we observe in Poland recently? Though why only in Poland?
This virus takes an increasing number of the European Union countries. This idea wins more and more supporters on the European continent.
Besides, it aggressively interferes in political life of the EU, starting playing a noticeable role in it. Confirmation to that is a victory of party of the right forces representative of France Marine Le Pen on elections to European Parliament; in Hungary — the Yobbik party which got 20,6 percent of votes at the last parliamentary elections; in Ukraine — the parliament is completely created by radical and nationalist forces. And we see these forces both in Spain, Germany and Great Britain …
In total the territorial claims sound more loudly from lips of representatives of the right forces to neighbouring states, charges to foreign workers, statements for historical uniqueness of the ethnos.
Most sad that in the 20th century Europe already saw to what Nazism leads on the example of Germany, Italy, Yugoslavia. There was a hope that Nuremberg will be a reliable vaccine against plague of the twentieth century for many centuries.
But transatlantic rulers of the destiny invented a new strain of this disease and successfully adapted it in the Old World.
As it seems to me, the successful development is not favourable to competitors of the E. U. This project reflecting as the European analogue of the USSR, but only on other ideological basis didn’t meet expectations of authors: instead of control of the continent economy growth and first of all the donor country of Germany, it played the positive role in a raising of a standard of living of the population of the subsidized countries. It allowed to level partially the contradictions between different social groups of the population. It presented illusion of political and economic independence from transatlantic authors of the project.
Therefore as the constraining lead stranglehold for the leaders of EU countries who fondly believed in the freedom on money of curators and the assault groups of nationalists were made from among outcasts which are periodically reminding during sports competitions — actions of football and other fans; at celebration of the Independence Day — riots in the capitals by Nazi hands committing excesses.
And if it doesn’t make sober the stray national elite, so indicative Maidan is organized as it occurred in Ukraine. I. e. the nationalism is the Sword of Damocles ready to cut the head to any who will dare to depart from the course ordered it.
Playing on low instincts of declassed elements, the puppeteer has always the cheap gun meat ready to trample everything to the earth, up to own country. And it isn’t a pity to give him on sacrifice, after all the smell of blood forces the herd to crowd round the leader even more strongly.
Here such sad thoughts push me to an unfavourable conclusion that the period of peaceful and full life in the EU comes to an end and we are expected by big shocks in near temporary prospect. As Karl Marx claimed «capitalism in the person of the proletariat created the grave-digger» and was right. I will risk to paraphrase it: «In a subsoil of the EU its grave-digger already grew up in the person of nationalism». Therefore the death of the EU is a matter of time.
