Saakashvili is eager to return to power

If to call things by their proper names, the political crisis occurred in Georgia. When the Georgian Dream block, which was made from the ground up by the billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, surely won against Mikheil Saakashvili’s party firstly on parliamentary and then at presidential elections, so it seemed to much that the period of political stability will begin in the country. Obviously, the architect of «Georgian Dream» who left from a post of the prime minister in a thick of public life also was confident in it.
At the beginning, everything was really cloudless. And then suddenly Ivanishvili subjected to sharp criticism of the president of Georgia Georgy Margvelashvili, who was elected with his full support. Then the president and the current prime minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili exchanged claims already.
And disorder of ruling coalition became apogee of unexpected disorders. It happened after Irakli Garibashvili made the decision to dismiss Irakli Alasania from a post of the Minister of Defence of the country. We will remind, Alasania led «Our Georgia — Free Democrats» party which added voices in parliament so necessary for «Georgian Dream». Right after Alasania’s resignation from a ministerial post his colleague on party Aleksi Petriashvili resigned as the state minister for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration. And the party «Our Georgia — Free Democrats» made the decision to leave ruling coalition.
All these passions in the Georgian political sky inflamed because of opposition between the Ministry of Defence and the chief prosecutor’s office which declared initiation of three cases concerning the high-ranking officials in department: about waste of public funds in favour of the telecommunication company Silknet at a rate of 2,3 million dollars, about waste of public funds in connection with reconstruction of one of the buildings and also about mass food poisoning of the military personnel.
Certainly, the colleagues of Mikhail Saakashvildi who can’t appear in the homeland because of threat of arrest on the numerous charges brought to him didn’t fail to use a situation. One of skilled Georgian politicians, the former chairman of the parliament of Georgia, «Democratic Movement — United Georgia» party leader Nino Burjanadze declared at once that Irakli Alasania can enter the coalition with Saakashvili’s party:
- During staying in opposition they were near «National movement». And I don’t exclude that they will appear in the coalition with Saakashvili’s party. The state is difficult situation, about what the crisis in higher levels tells which we observe. I consider that the prime minister had no other exit as to dismiss Alasania after his statements.

The leader of parliamentary minority of Georgia David Bakradze who, naturally broadcasts the point of view of the former president of Georgia, made the comments:
«Full-scale crisis is available. „Georgian Dream“ ran dry in two years after coming to power and they start breaking up … Disintegration of the coalition, most likely, will finally be issued». And also Mikheil Saakashvili spoke every other day: he gave interview to Forbes Georgia which published video of conversation with Mikheil Saakashvili on the site. As usual, he blamed Bidzina Ivanishvili for everything:
- Ivanishvili will try to create new political groups to prolong his board as possibly only in the conditions of opposition division. Today the opposition in Georgia is united therefore the movements of some parties, creation of groups are Ivanishvili’s games from the beginning to the end.
Ivanishvili won’t allow carrying out usual, classical elections therefore classical transition of the power won’t be. When there is a transition of a classical situation to more radical aspect, as Ivanishvili does, such situation generates new leaders who won’t be burdened with the bureaucratic pressure of the past.
Saakashvili didn’t fail to declare also that he is sure: shortly there will be «overthrow of Ivanishvili board in Georgia»:
- I think that it is not a question of several years. It is a question of several months when society is reorganized and will answer attempts of usurpation of the power. Ivanishvili will be overthrown, but his overthrow isn’t our purpose. Our purpose consists in that this inevitable process happened so that it wasn’t followed by full unleashing of hands for Russia (in Georgia), violation of the sovereignty of Georgia and the violence similar to that occurred in Ukraine".
However, «free democrats» right there notified the supporters that aren’t going to cooperate with United National Movement party which is headed by Mikheil Saakashvili. Just what retired Aleksi Petriashvili told about it: «Neither journalists, nor especially „nationalists“ can be troubled with speculation about some partnership with „National movement“ in vain».
Saakashvili made the following step again: his supporters carried out an action in the centre of the Georgian capital on Rustaveli Avenue. The address of Saakashvili who as it was declared, is in Kiev, was broadcast via monitors. The ex-president accused Russia:
- Today we face a choice between two Georgia: we trust in one of them and they trust in the second. On the one hand there is Georgia which is occupied by Russia and on the other — Georgia in which they say that separatists fight for self-determination during 25 years. We have Georgia which aspires that the whole world considered it as the civilized partner and there is a government of Georgia which abuses all our friends and humiliates all well-wishers.
Political scientists consider that the political situation in Georgia remains unstable and considerable activation should be waited from Saakashvili shortly.
