Shuravi are dissatisfied. Should we «cure» the government?
The famous Arab proverb says: “If you do not feel the beauty of flowers, if you do not appreciate the friendship and if you do not enjoy the songs - you are sick, you should be treated”.
In the early December, the car with the representatives of diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation was attacked in Kabul. The embassy staff got concussion when their car was blown up on an improvised explosive device. None of the terrorist groups, operating in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, took responsibility for this act of sabotage.
Official Moscow reacted harshly and quickly. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made an official statement: “We demand the Afghan side to make a thorough investigation of the incident and take exhaustive measures to ensure the safety of personnel of the Russian diplomatic missions in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.”
We venture to guess that finding the terrorist attack perpetrator will not be easy, especially if there are certain third-party forces behind the sabotage itself. It is possible that the purpose of this action was not a trivial crime, but to cause a rift in Russia's well-established working relationships with other parties to the peace process in Afghanistan. The policy of intimidating of the Russian diplomats may be aimed at driving Russia out of the IRA's traditional partners.
The process of peaceful settlement in Afghanistan is a clear policy priority for any Afghan government. The important role in this process, along with other geopolitical forces, is played by the Russian Federation and the countries of the collective West. However, Russia and the U.S. are actively competing with each other in the international arena. It is in the interests of Afghanistan not to let the “Great Game” of the West and the East to interfere with the process of peace settlement in our country. It is absolutely unacceptable that one side of the conflict endangers the lives of representatives of the other side. Among other reasons, the situation with the terrorist attack on the Russian diplomats' car should be investigated thoroughly. In addition, it should be emphasized that the high degree of violence undermines the credibility of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in front of the international community. And, ultimately, it may affect the position of donor countries on political and economic support of the country.
In this context, it is quite obvious that it is necessary to identify, as soon as possible, those who were involved in the implementation of the subversive and terrorist attack, and, thus, to restore the international prestige of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. It was no coincidence that the Arab sages believed that only those who value the friendship can be considered healthy.
