The Olympic movement is falling prey to rich crooks

"Oh, sport, you're the world!", exclaimed Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympics, in his "Ode to Sport", which saw the light in 1912. More than 100 years after that, the first Honorary President of the International Olympic Committee could have said: "Oh, sport, you are fraud, corruption and deception!" and would have been absolutely right.

"Ode to sport" has nine sub-sections. The third, called "Oh, sport, you are justice", declares:

You indicate the direct, honest ways that people are looking for to achieve the goals of life.
You're impartial.
You teach that the rules of competition are the law.
You demand: "No athlete who performs exercises in front of spectators and referees should violate these rules".
You define the boundaries between sports. No referee is more exacting and strict than yourself.
Your demand for fair judgments for true achievement is unshakable.

Now that Pierre de Kubertin's seemingly unshakable confidence a hundred years ago in the triumph of honesty, fairness and impartiality in sporting Olympic competitions can at best only arouse a skeptical smile.

Numerous scandals, the lion's share of which is associated with a retrospective review of the final results of the competition and, as a consequence, the subsequent loss of athletes' prizes and even medals, have become a sad reality of modern Olympic sport!

A reasonable and simple and shocking question arises: why do all anti-doping bodies, including the World Anti-Doping Agency, remain silent like fish during Olympics and other international competitions of world level?

And why are they active in uncovering anti-doping violations mainly after competitions have ended?

No, of course, there are cases when, based on the testimony of some individuals, such as the sadly "famous" Russian Gennady Rodchenkov, former director of the Anti-Doping Center in Moscow, WADA starts tests, no, not the tests themselves, but only databases of these tests. That is, he is not dealing with the object of the tests, but with someone else's reports, in which Rodchenkov himself had the opportunity to make changes and falsifications! Who can guarantee that he did not do this in anyone's interest? Especially since Rodchenkov ran away to the USA and, being there, for some time even had remote access to databases of Russian athletes!

Nevertheless, in violation of every conceivable and unthinkable law of elementary logic and justice, WADA accused all Russian athletes and banned them from participating in the Olympics under the banner of their country for four years.

In such a situation, the International Olympic Committee behaved quite sluggishly, promising to sort it out, but in fact it went for the WADA. The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne is infinitely slow, and claims can take years to settle. And at this time, athletes are still not allowed to compete.

God be with them, with these Russians, perhaps some of you will say. But it's not that simple: first of all, the Russians are excellent athletes, and competition in many sports without them will lose all intrigue and spectacle, and the winners will be known in advance.

Secondly, who told you that athletes from other countries do not use doping, if I may say so, the latest "modifications"?

The fact is that in reality, the sport of high achievement, the pinnacle of which, of course, is the holding of the Summer and Winter Olympics once every four years, has found itself in the hands of very rich and super-rich people for whom there is no sporting ideal, but only the desire to increase their influence and capital.

For example, the production of doping for leading Western athletes involves not just some private small laboratories hiding in the basements, but entire production chains producing more and more new types of doping.

Given that, for example, as evidenced by the investigation of the Swedish newspaper "Nyhetsbanken", Bill Gates is in the hands of not only many pharmaceutical giants, but also the World Health Organization itself, which he funds, one can only guess what forces and finances are thrown at such tasks.

And the main purpose of WADA, the leading sponsors of which are the United States, United Kingdom and some other countries, which actively cooperates with the World Health Organization, is to ensure that the newest doping drugs for "chosen" and "their" athletes do not get on the lists of banned drugs earlier. And, of course, to "knock out" competitors who are often able to honestly win without doping...

The production and use of doping has now become one of the most lucrative criminal businesses, generating tens of billions of dollars in profits.

Monsieur de Coubertin, could you name the results of the Olympics, which are held on such avenues?

It is clear that this whole anti-doping mishap has nothing to do with the sport itself, which has de facto become a means of blackmail and political pressure.

Anti-doping legislation requires immediate amendment and improvement. This must be done by independent and newly established international bodies, not by WADA staff who have been tainted and controlled by anyone.

It should be made clear that only when a Prohibited Substance has been administered prior to the start of a competition should it be considered a proven case of doping.

Without such legislation, with the current level of abuse and the endless process of improving doping drugs, the organization of the Olympics and World Championships loses any sense, because they become not a sport, but a competition between the producers of the doping itself in the "judging" of unscrupulous officials of WADA.
